Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16, she had already landed several television roles, for instance, the lead in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated films featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is known for her work in numerous noteworthy projects both domestically and internationally. They comprise British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as well as French historical miniseries Napoleon. She has also been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as in at the Cannes Film Festival.
